I’m considering a movie night and I want to compose a list of the top ten movies… ever… to choose from and watch. If you have any recommendations or violently disagree with any of the selections leave a note. Here goes:
- Hot Fuzz
- Things I Hate About You
- The 5th Element
- Dark City
- Die Edukators
- The Machinist
- Shaun of the Dead
- Serenity
- Pitch Black
- Fight Club

Dude, wheres Full Metal Jacket? Its not a top 10 list without FMJ
You have a point… but which one is it going to replace…? ;)
Star Trek: First Contact?
Some other suggestions for the pool to chose from:
- Bicentennial Man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0182789/ , absolutely incredible movie about an android becoming a man)
- The Matrix
- The Simpsons Movie?
Gosh, I have only seen the 5th element and pitch black… I must be missing a lot.
I’m going through my mental list of movies I like now, separating the amusing trash from the good ones… OK…
Being John Malkovich
Twelve Monkeys
Once Upon a Time in the West (really!)
Anyway, ignore me, I’m too far away to come watch movies with you.
Danijel: The Matrix (number 1) would probably make it 11 on my list; it’s a good suggestion.
Taco: definitely :). If you’re going to watch Serenity, check out Firefly first. Also, watch all the rest listed above as well, for the kicks.
@danijel: Ewww, and also ewww!
ST:FC I’m not going to touch, you absolutely must have been joking.
Bicentennial man I’m surprised by. Are you serious about that? I thought the movie was tosh - but, that could just be because I’ve read both the short story and the novel many times, and both of them make me cry. The movie didn’t have the same impact on me as even the short story, but maybe that’s just because I’m too familiar with the story in written form.
I just watched hot fuzz, it’s ridiculously awesome, i love it.
Lots of other movies on that list I haven’t seen yet. will be checking them out.
I would go for platoon over full metal jacket, or das boot if you don’t mind subtitles.
Hot Fuzz is a rocker.
Mhh.. Haven’t seen Platoon; should get around to watching it. As for Das Boot, I won’t need subtitles. ;)
Freaky…
I’ve never seen any of these movies. And I’ve only heard of #2 & 10 (but otherwise know nothing about them).
I guess I see the wrong advertisements or read the wrong reviews. ;)
Scott: Whoa… you’re missing out. :)
