Addi­tonal: This was done in Inkscape, using filters (thanks Andy­Fitz). In order to view the filter (the shadow) prop­erly add:

<group id="filtertest" value="5.0" />

inside the <group id="options" group of your ~/.inkscape/preferences.xml file.

Now down­load your copy of the svgz here and you’re set. Remem­ber to take, share and be merry. ;)
