Working XGL and Compiz

Seems that with one of the recent updates my video card has sudden 3D support. I can play tuxracer with no problems so I decided to try XGL and Compiz. The nested howto got it working in a window under my desktop so I figured I might as well try it out. Got it working thanks to the howto, cube and all about 10 minutes later. Very, very cool indeed. Only annoyance is that this integrated card isn’t fully up to it. It slows down Banshee, Evolution and Inkscape, which I’m not trading for some fancy effects. I’m definitely going to keep it installed to show off sometime but for my desktop it’s not really worth it. Can live without it.

As for screenshots I opted out this time, as I guess you’ve all seen enough screen casts and shots.

…Very cool though… ^^
