Today Chris, Molly, Steve and I met up and had the first Kororaa hackfest. Well not really. We lounged around, glued to our respective laptops, ate Asian for lunch and chocolate hot-cross buns, with a mixture of corn chips.
Not that we weren’t doing productive things. We decided on the codename for the 2006 release, I did the wallpaper for that, and the other three, being more code-gifted hacked away. We also came up with some… er.. interesting ideas for the system login sound. It was a lot of fun and we all finished off with playing tuxracer, or rather planet penguin racer as it’s now called, trying to beat each others scores.
Might finish off with the release image I did, which appears similarly on the wallpaper. Till next time.

Sounds like you guys had fun.
Is there a reason why the “drop bear” name ?
Btw, did you see my tuxracer speed record ? http://img101.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tuxracer8ec.png
Drop bear, eh. Haha, there sure is a reason. Actually now that you ask, I shall give one hint: consider the mention of the start-up/login sounds I had above… ^^
As for the speed record, that is very impressive. I think I managed the highest speed record today among us there, at a whopping 205 km/h, if I recall correctly. I also figured some of the key combinations I wasn’t aware of before, such as the trick function. It was hilarious seeing tux do flips and somesaults at speeds of 180+ km/h, in mid-air.
Cheers, Pascal
