I’m all out…

I’ve given them all way. Today I gave out my last Ubuntu disc set. That makes about ~260 Ubuntu discs that I’ve given out since about December last year. 50 easily disappeared one night at out LUG, another 40 were given to the Street Theatre one night when mum and I ushered, 100 were distributed in show bags at the University of Canberra’s opening day, and the rest were distributed here and there. I always carried at least 4 with me where-ever I went so whenever the opportunity arose during some computer-talk I showed them around and most of the time they were welcomed and people were interested.

Helped a few of the people that I gave out discs to as well with various Ubuntu-related questions. Did a few installs, helped people with GNOME here and there. Actually I did my latest Ubuntu install just last night on a laptop which belongs to the Chinese lady staying with us who is studying at one of the local univerisities. Ubuntu dual booted with Windows XP. Thus far she really likes it. I give her a month and then she’ll want to get one of my Ubuntu lozenge stickers to glue to her laptop cover. ;)

So, yea. Lots of fun. Horrah for Ubuntu!

Edit: While on about Ubuntu, just saw Flight 4 takes off! This features a new installer, graphical actually and even allows users to install Ubuntu from the livecd like in other live distros such as Simply MEPIS. Kick ass!
